- This session will identify some of the operational issues and challenges facing complimentary centers. Strategic planning, operations and marketing procedures will be discussed.

- This session will address issues related to research in reference to complimentary medicine.
JCAHO Pain Standards and Compliance
Saturday, November 11, 2000 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.
Speaker: Chryl C. Corizzo
- An examination of the new JCAHO Pain Management Standards, with examples of how to demonstrate compliance, and reinforce nursing responsibilities in the management of patients in pain. This program is designed to educate registered nurses and other allied health professionals on ways to improve the effectiveness of pain management in their health care settings, specifically reviewing; 1) the JCAHO standards specific to pain management and what/how institutions need to demonstrate compliance; 2) resources/tools to assist in assessing and effecting change; and 3) the specific role that nurses play in optimizing pain management for patients; and 4) demonstrate examples of how one institution used the quality improvement process to enhance pain management practice.
