AAMA Research & Educational Foundation
The American Academy of Medical Administrators Research & Educational Foundation (AAMA Foundation) was founded in 1976 to:
- Conduct, sponsor, or promote courses of instruction for individuals to develop or improve their capabilities in the field of healthcare operations and administration, and
- Conduct and encourage research in the art and science of healthcare operations and administration for the benefit of the public
The AAMA Foundation Board of Directors serves as the governing body of the organization. Each member of the Foundation’s Board is a member of the AAMA Board of Directors.
The Foundation is incorporated as a Not For Profit Corporation in the State of Illinois and is exempt from taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions to the AAMA Foundation are considered charitable contributions under IRC section 170 and tax deductible as provided by law.
Funding and Donations
The Foundation has been funded over the years by donations, large and small, by individual members of AAMA, by charitable foundations, and by our corporate partners.

Conference Scholarships
The AAMA Foundation is committed to providing the highest level of educational opportunities for AAMA members. To make our programs more accessible, the Foundation will offer two scholarships to the AAMA Annual Conference.
Scholarships are for tuition for the specified educational program only. Travel, non-conference meals and hotel expenses are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient. Scholarship applicants must be AAMA members in good standing.
Applications will be considered based on financial need, as well as professional growth and participation.
