CRITERIA FOR DIPLOMATE IN HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION STATUS
Diplomate status is available only to Fellows in the American Academy of Medical Administrators. Being a “Diplomate in Healthcare Administration” is not an award or membership category. It is a status, an honor bestowed to indicate achievement of true excellence within the field of healthcare administration.
A. To apply for Diplomate Status, provide documentation of personal achievements or submit the required thesis project or case studies:
- Members who have advanced to Fellow by completion of a project (thesis) or by completion of three case studies are eligible to achieve Diplomate status only by earning 35 points on the Personal Achievement Documentation (PAD) form.
- Members who have advanced to Fellow by earning sufficient points on the Personal Achievement Documentation (PAD) form must complete a project (thesis) or three case studies.
- Members who have advanced to Fellow by a combination of points and case studies must complete additional case studies to reach a total of three and earn sufficient additional points to reach a total of 35 points.
- In all cases, the earning of Diplomate status requires attendance within the past seven years at two Annual Conferences and Convocations. This may include attendance at the Convocation at which Diplomate status is to be conferred plus one additional Convocation.
B. Candidates must enclose a $200 processing fee.
