Quick Leonard Kieffer International has been retained to assist in the search for a Vice President of Cardiovascular Services for New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC), the ninth largest health care system in North Carolina. NHRMC recently completed the largest expansion in its history to add the space needed to keep pace with the growing community and a rapidly changing world of healthcare advances. This lead to a complete renovation of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center patient tower; new outpatient initiatives, an overall increase to 769 total licensed beds in the network and more.

Each year, cardiovascular services at NHRMC achieve over 500 open-heart surgeries, over 9,000 cath procedures (both diagnostic and interventional), and over 2,000 EP studies. There are over 25 cardiologists in four groups, and three CV surgeons on staff. All cardiologists in town are part of Coastal Carolina Heart, a joint venture with NHRMC and MedCath. Coastal Carolina Heart includes hospital cath/ep labs, a freestanding cath lab, and a mobile cath lab. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of the system, the Vice President of Cardiovascular Services will have ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day operations of all cardiovascular services. Additionally, this individual will provide consultative services as an integral member of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s management staff in formulating, implementing, and evaluating cardiovascular services within the organization. The appropriate candidate for this position will possess five to ten years of progressive experience in health care management. This position requires an individual who understands the interplay between the clinical and operational arenas. Experience in strategic planning, marketing, and/or business development is sought.
