POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Oncology Service Line Director is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to expand and maximize the effectiveness of the CRMC Oncology Program. The primary goal of this position is to create a smooth, efficient and satisfying experience for patients, employees and physicians.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • a BS degree in Business Administration or related field required;
  • a Masters in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • a minimum of four years management experience in a diagnostic or therapeutic related field;
  • exhibits a solid background in basic management principles and practices including medical staff relationships, marketing, health planning, finance, construction project management, communications and interpersonal relationships and ancillary health agencies at a local, state and national level;
  • must possess good leadership, project management and customer service and teamwork skills;
  • must exhibit courteous communication skills, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties.

Mission Hospital is the regional referral center for Western North Carolina and the adjoining region and is accredited by The Joint Commission, not-for-profit, independent community hospital system based in Asheville, NC is seeking a Director of Invasive & Non-Invasive Cardiology. He or she will oversee 5 state-of-the-art cardiac cath labs and 2 dedicated EP labs as well as with direct oversight for the non-invasive departments.

The Director of Invasive & Non-Invasive Cardiology has responsibility for providing direction and leadership for diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology patient services. The Director through his/her management team designs the product, identifies the resources to ensure product quality and safety, articulates standards of performance and monitors activity against those standards, and maximizes profitability and efficiency.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, healthcare or other related field or experience as a Radiologic/Cardiovascular Technician is required, with a Master’s Degree in one of those disciplines preferred. Nursing candidates will be required to obtain an unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina, as a condition of employment.

Director, Cardiology Service Line

The Senior Director is responsible for the Cardiology Service Line at Truman Medical Centers. This role oversees administrative, fiscal and clinical operations; ensures program quality, customer and physician satisfaction; directs program marketing and business development, community outreach, fund raising and financial/strategic planning. In conjunction with the Chief of Cardiology, this role acts as the Chairperson of the multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Steering Committee. The Senior Director will work closely with physician groups and clinics (Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Vascular), directors and staff of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic services, invasive cardiovascular diagnostic and treatments; cardiovascular surgery, cardiovascular laboratory services, chest pain services, Emergency Department services, facility-based ancillary services, regional business development, marketing services, and information technology.

Requirements:

  • MSN, MHA, MBA or equivalency.
  • Five to seven years experience in hospital administration; Three to five years experience as senior cardiovascular service line director. Practical experience with budgeting, strategic planning, marketing plan development and implementation as well as fundraising.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as managed care contracts, business and marketing plans, financial documents, safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and interpret statistical data.
  • Must be able to interact with others in a positive, effective, courteous and professional manner. Must demonstrate good leadership and supervision skills. Must have the ability to work under pressure and stay calm in all circumstances. Must be consistent in following policies and procedures. Must be able to handle difficult situations and frequent interruptions. Multi-tasking and good organization skills are required.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and make decisions quickly. Must be able to grasp and analyze situations quickly and make appropriate decisions. Must be detailed oriented, analytical, extremely organized and have the ability to multi-task. Must be able to speak effectively before large or small groups of employees, administration, patients and other internal or external entities.

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required preferably in hospital or business administration. A Master’s degree in hospital administration, public health administration, or business administration, or related field preferred and four (4) years healthcare management experience preferably in cardiovascular.
