Director of Cardiovascular Services

The Director of Cardiovascular Services of The Heart Hospital is responsible for the overall administrative leadership of the cardiovascular service line at Baylor Grapevine. The Director will develop and implement unit and service line goals, including the quality plan to improve overall performance. The position is responsible for the management of the service line budgets, financial outcomes, and resource use in collaboration with the administrative team at The Heart Hospital and Baylor Grapevine. The Director is responsible for holding the cardiovascular service line accountable for standards of patient care and performance and implementation of service excellence within the service line. This position acts as a liaison between cardiovascular services and the medical staff and has oversight of clinical and non-clinical personnel. We are looking for a strong cardiovascular leader to oversee clinical, and operational as well as program growth.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a BSN or a related healthcare or business degree at the Bachelor level, a Master’s degree and a minimum of five years of cardiovascular services experience. Previous director-level experience and demonstrated experience in cardiovascular service line growth through progressive responsibility are required.

This position is responsible for day to day operations in both Cath labs and EP labs. Will interface with Procedural Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, Telemetry Units and Emergency Department. This position requires extensive clinical experience in cardiovascular care, preferably with Cath Lab and EP Lab experience. Understanding of patient care pathways in both lab settings, familiarity with equipment, supplies and imaging software needed.

* Performs all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment and retention.

* Develops and implements department specific customer service, human resource, and financial goals and objectives consistent with VMMC strategic plan and goals.

* Promotes and nurtures teambuilding and career growth to maximize productivity and job satisfaction.

* Manages, develops and monitors the operating and capital budget.

* Manages and facilitates research and development projects with outside vendors and companies.

* Plans and organizes staff and facilities to meet customer needs.

* Provides leadership and training on all new technologies for professional staff, residents and physicians.

Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as an R.T. 5 years of Diagnostic Radiology with extensive knowledge in radiology techniques, processes, quality control and radiation safety required; 3 years experience, which includes management, supervision and budgeting, also required.

OR

Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare or business administration or current enrollment in a program required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in WA and 5 years acute care nursing experience, including three years increasingly responsible management experience required; extensive relevant clinical and business knowledge, which may include appropriate certifications; and an understanding of budgets and planning.
