AAMA Volunteer Options
Committees
Time Commitment
Committees are “year-round” groups with ongoing responsibilities. An estimate of meetings per year is listed for each committee. Committee meetings typically run 1 to 1 1/2 hours by TCC. In addition, you may have assignments to complete in between meetings.Volunteer Form Standing committee activities will commence in January at the call of the chair.
CAAMA Committee
- Establishes policies and procedures for CAAMA exam management (logistics of offering, proctoring and scheduling exam), maintenance (updating exam itself including Body of Knowledge, books on reading list, question writing and study guide), and recredentialing, and assists with grading essay questions on CAAMA exams
- Meets monthly via TCC
- Committee members represent academia, or hold CAAMA or FAAMA credential
Annual Conference Planning Commitee
- Identifies topics and attracts speakers for the AAMA’s annual fall conference. Provides expertise on positioning, marketing, and building the educational and networking aspects of the meeting
- Members participate in bi-weekly TCCs from November to late March to plan the conference
Cardiovascular Administrators’ Leadership Conference Planning Committe
- Identifies topics and attracts speakers for the ACCA’s March Cardiovascular Administrators’ Management Conference. Provides expertise on positioning, marketing, and building the educational and networking aspects of the meeting
- Members participate in weekly TCCs from mid-June to late August
Council of Past Chairs
- Reviews nominations for the annual AAMA awards, selects recipients and determines awards criteria
- Meets annually by TCC in August
- Requirements: Must be Past AAMA Board Chair
AAMA Executive Editorial Board
- Preview articles, and recommends editorial policy and various improvements to the AAMA Executive
- Individual members review articles for the quarterly Executive, as needed
Advancement Committee
- Oversees AAMA’s advancement programs, granting Fellow and Diplomate status
- Meets periodically by TCC. Individual members review advancement applications, as needed
- Requirements: Must be FAAMA, FACCA or FACCP
