What are the qualifications required to
join AAMA?
If you are employed in healthcare
management or education with a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent in
education and experience, then you belong in the American Academy of
Medical Administrators!
How do I join AAMA?
Join today by completing our online Application.
How do I join a specialty group?
AAMA members may join our specialty groups
for no additional charge. AAMA currently has groups that focus on
administration in the cardiovascular, contingency planning, healthcare
information, health plan management (formerly managed care), oncology, federal healthcare, and small and
rural healthcare specialties. You may add a specialty group online.
I sent in my application and have not heard
from you.
You will receive a "Welcome Kit"
within two weeks. If you have not received your kit in two weeks, please
contact our Manager of Membership.

Does the Academy provide Continuing Education
Credits?
The AAMA awards Continuing Education Credits for attendance at education programs.
One hour of attendance at an education program equals one AAMA Continuing
Education Credit. Use these credits to
fulfill requirements to maintain professional credentials or to indicate
to your employer you are up-to-date in your area of expertise.

What is the CAAMA credential, why should I

How do I register for an exam?
You may register online.
How do I prepare for the exam?

Exam results are provided by mail only
and are sent 6-8 weeks after the exam.
What if I do not pass?
Exam candidates are allowed 2 retakes at
no additional charge.

What do I do to
maintain my CAAMA
designation?
- You must recredential every three years.
Why must I recredential?
- The CAAMA is a time-limited designation.
Evidence of continuing professional development is necessary to
maintain the CAAMA.

do I recredential?
- Earn 30 Professional Currency Points
- Maintain AAMA membership
- Pay recredentialing fee
What if I don't recredential?
- You may not continue to use the CAAMA
designation
