Credentialing Options
Available through the American Academy of Medical Administrators
AAMA offers two types of credentials in general healthcare
administration and in various specialties of this multi-faceted
profession:
- Examination-based
credentials (CAAMA) are earned by passing an examination based on
a specified Body of Knowledge in healthcare administration, as defined
by AAMA.
- Experience-based
credentials (FAAMA, Diplomate, FACCA and FACCP) are earned by
demonstration of professional development, service and experience in
healthcare administration through one of the following paths
- Original fellowship thesis of
graduate school quality
- Three case studies
- Documentation of formal education,
continuing education, organizational and professional service
