The AVP will provide leadership for the development and implementation of a comprehensive growth strategy in collaboration with executives throughout DUHS and Heart Center leadership. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Duke University Health System, this AVP will establish and maintain a close working relationship with various sections of the Duke University Health System and Heart Center affiliates in order to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidenced-based care and customer focused services. The Heart Center has a total of 1,241 FTE’s, total expense budget of over $132 million and gross revenues of over $629 million, 169,251 patient visits (all locations) highlighted by: 26, 624 adult echo procedures, 15,082 cath procedures, 2,183 electrophysiology procedures. There are more than 700 expert faculty, staff and over 100 board certified cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in healthcare, business or related discipline
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare/hospital operations or similar service industry with a minimum of 15 years progressive leadership experience
- Experience in an academic medical center is preferred

St. Joseph’s Candler Health System is embarking on a system wide strategy to grow surgery, cardiovascular, and imaging services. We are seeking a seasoned Vice President of Clinical Services to execute this strategic plan and integrate and transform these services across the hospital. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer for the system, the successful candidate will work closely with physician and hospital leaders, and be responsible for developing growth strategies not only in the Savannah markets but those outside the area as well. The Vice President is expected to have a solid understanding of operations and business development, to assess new business ventures and their clinical relevance and economic feasibility.
The ideal candidate will be an innovative and autonomous leader with a proven track record of building and leading surgical, imaging and cardiovascular services that support superior clinical care. A strong focus of outreach and business development with experience in integrating and growing programs is required. Borgess currently has an opening for a Department Director to direct, plan, and coordinate the operations of the Cardiovascular and EP labs, Cardiac Short Stay and Cardiac Ultrasound departments on a 24-hour basis.
The Director will play a crucial role in promoting staff engagement, ensuring accountability among staff and operating as a visible leader for the department. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring quality patient care, leading joint commission accreditation, fiscal management and effective communication utilizing relationship centered care concepts.

Requirements:
Current MI RN Licensure Required.BSN or MSN required. Master’s Degree required or initiated within 1 year with required completion within 7 years. If Bachelor’s Degree is non-BSN, the Master’s Degree must be in Nursing. Five years of current clinical experience in Cath Lab or Cardiac Critical Care, Cardiac Short Stay (CSS) and ECHO areas.
Three to five years progressive clinical management experience in Cath/EP lab, CSS and ECHO operations.
A proven background in improving and maintaining excellent staff and patient satisfaction levels is required.
The individual will possess the ability to utilize staff resources in a positive efficient manner.
The Director must have talent in creating an environment of teamwork among all levels of staff.
Must be able to address customer/staff issues utilizing basic concepts of relationship centered care.
